Meet Emily

Hello there.

Nice to meet you!

There’s nothing that brings me more joy than inspiring clients to create extraordinary lives for themselves by teaching them how to strengthen their own intuition about food and eating in a way that is deliciously fun and honors their unique body, mind and soul. I partner with them in their journey and guide them through a series of small steps that, over time, become a sustainable lifestyle of health, vitality, and joyful living.

Over the past several years I have counseled hundreds of clients with a variety of health concerns across the US (and a few overseas!), and because of my amazing personal story of reversing and recovering from Crohn’s disease, I specialize in serving adults with gastrointestinal conditions, like Crohn’s and Colitis, who are tired of breaking the bank on prescriptions and medical treatments that don’t deliver results and are ready to explore natural ways they can get their life back, so they can live with more ease, freedom and joy, spend more time doing what they love with the people they love, and have the energy to bring forward their uniqueness and share their gifts and talents with the world, without feeling lost, confused or alone in their journey.

I invite you to read more about me, my training and my personal story below, and I love hearing from people, so please send me an email and say hello.

In joy, health & service,

Professional Training & Bio:

Emily Jane Butler is a certified Health & Nutrition Counselor and the founder of Core Wisdom Wellness. The mission of Core Wisdom Wellness is to educate, empower and inspire people to embrace food as a means of health, joy and vitality in a way that is fun and easy to integrate into a new lifestyle.

She received her certification through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and Teacher’s College Columbia University in New York City and is accredited by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP).

Most recently, Emily trained with Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride and graduated from the first ever class of certified Gut and Psychology Syndrome (GAPS) Practitioners in fall of 2011.  This training offers Emily’s clients with digestive concerns specialized support in helping them reclaim their health.

Emily also completed training in mind-body nutrition with the Institute for the Psychology of Eating under the mentorship of nutritional expert, Marc David, in Boulder, Colorado. Additionally, she works with colleagues and leading practitioners to stay on top of the latest information in the nutrition field and deepen her counseling skills.

Emily’s personal journey of overcoming long term chronic illness led her to her calling as a Health Counselor. After being diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at age 15, a disease she was told was “incurable” with medications and surgery as her only options, she began a heartfelt search for another way. Despite what health professionals told her, she discovered that what you eat, really does matter. In her process of overcoming and reversing years of illness, she revealed her passions for nutrition and healthy cooking as well as a lifestyle that integrated yoga, meditation, herbs and natural healing alternatives. Now, she remains Crohn’s-free and shares her inspiring story and expertise with audiences nationwide.

Now she shares her journey and expertise with others to help them reclaim their health and enrich their lives by offering health counseling that honors each person’s unique body, mind and soul.

Her nutritional expertise is sought nationwide in the fields of gastrointestinal health, women’s health and stress reduction.

She also provides specialized coaching for clients who wish to follow the Specific Carbohydrate Diet outlined in the book, “Breaking the Vicious Cycle” by Elaine Gottschall. This book helped Emily reclaim her health, and now she helps guide others who are ready to do the same by following this specific way of eating for intestinal health and healing.

Her mission is to create change across the globe by teaching others how to enjoy food and life again by showing them that healthy cooking and eating can be fun, simple, delicious and a life-enriching experience.

She empowers and inspires clients to create extraordinary lives for themselves by teaching them to strengthen their own intuition about health and nutrition. She partners with them in their journey towards health by guiding them through a series of small steps that, over time, become a sustainable lifestyle of health, vitality, and joy.

When she’s not cooking up creative dishes in the kitchen or having fun with food shopping, Emily enjoys expressing herself through color by painting in oils and watercolors. She enjoys being in nature and feeling inspired by its beauty. She also loves traveling, music, dancing, writing, daydreaming over a cup of hot tea, and spending time with family and friends.
